Water treatment
A centrifuge or decanter is a system that continuously and mechanically separates liquid and solids by means of a centrifugal force. As a result of the large centrifugal force, the various substances are separated based on the difference in their densities.
With a centrifuge, a drum rotates around a horizontal axis. In this case, the horizontal axis consists of a screw. The screw in the drum rotates slightly faster than the drum itself and, as a result, it takes the solid substances with it. The water is held back by a partition and is removed.
The dry matter concentration can easily be influenced by adding polymer prior to the centrifuge.
